From Cheyenne:

"There are no words to express my gratitude for everything people have done for us!!! I cry when I think about how many people are praying for us and trying to help in any way possible. I just don't know how to begin to thank you all! From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!!!"

HOW TO HELP

The response for help has been so overwhelming and amazing! Many people have gathered clothes, toys, and miscellaneous items for the boys and Cheyenne. Summer clothes and clothes for the remaining weeks of school for both Hayden and Noah have been provided. Both older boys have shoes to wear as well. Kingston has been given so many clothes that he should be good for the next year. Amazing People, simply AMAZING!!! (Cheyenne wept tears of joy as she sorted through bags and bags of clothes for her kids. It was a touching moment.)

Cheyenne has recieved some clothes but is still in need of more. She has recieved some really nice business clothes, but she needs more casual clothing. Shirts and shorts for summer would be greatly appreciated. She only has one pair of flip flops and a pair of house shoes.

Ryan's clothes were all in the laundry room and are completly destroyed. The need for clothes for him was unknown originally; therefore, he has absolutely no clothes at this point. His sizes are listed on this blog site as well.

Please hold your large item donations for a little bit longer. Currently Cheyenne's mother and her are working on renting a storage space. We will update this site when she has a place to keep larger items.

Please also hold onto any household items until the storage unit is available.

We are working on having monetary donations available on this site as well. They are striving to get a small place that can serve as a permanent location for the family until they are back on their feet. Any donations to help with that would be appreciated more than words can say!!!!

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers!

THE STORY

A Little Background Information:

Cheyenne Boyd lives in Mansfield, Tx with her three sons; Hayden 9, Noah 6 and Kingston 2 years old. Hayden and Noah attend school in Mansfield, and Cheyenne is currently a stay at home Mom while she finishes school. Cheyenne and Ryan, Kingston's dad, have been privately working together to rebuild the relationships within their family. Ryan was still paying for his apartment but had been staying at the house spending time with the kids; therefore, his clothes were also lost in the fire.

The Fire:

Tuesday, 5-11, was a normal day like any other. The boys had went to school that day and had returned home. Dinner, bath and bedtime had come and gone. Between 10:00 pm and 10:30 pm they heard something outside the front door. When they looked out the door they saw flames. Ryan tried to put the fire out with no luck. They immediately got the kids up and out. They ran across the street, called 911 and watched helplessly as the house burned. As they stood there Ryan started to feel his arms hurting a little. Then the pain got worse and he realized he was badly burned. Ryan was taken to Methodist Hospital in Mansfield and the boys were picked up immediately by a family friend.

The Boys:

Kingston has been the least affected by this tragedy due to his young age. Hayden and Noah have been traumatized by this fire as any child would be. Both boys have many, many questions and concerns but they are being loved as much as possible. Please continue to pray for these children's emotional recovery! They are going to need a lot of support.

Cheyenne:

Words can not express what Cheyenne is going through at this point. She is physically exhausted as anyone would be. She is going through so many emotions all at once. She is very aware of how lucky she is that no one was killed, but the great loss she has suffered is also very real. At this point all Cheyenne wants is to go home, and that is not possible. Although she does have loving family and friends, it's still not her home. This will ultimately be the most difficult thing she has ever had to make it through. Please continue to pray for her sanity and strength to face each day for herself and her family.

Ryan:

Ryan was transferred to Parkland Hospital. He has 2nd degree burns on both arms from his elbows down to his knuckles. His left foot up to the ankle is burned pretty badly, and his nose was also burned. The burns on his left foot are the worst, and they are still debating on skin grafting or surgery for those injuries. His left foot got an infection which quickly spread to the rest of his body. He did not respond to the first antibiotic but is fighting the infection well with the second antibiotic. He has had a difficult time keeping any liquid or food down due to the stong medications he has been taking. He is in a great deal of pain but is adament that he is happy it was him and not Cheyenne or the boys! Please pray for Ryan's recovery and well being! Injuries such as his are not only exhausting and painful, but also very depressing and emotionally damaging.

The Loss:

The insurance company has not made any decisions on the loss or what will be done to fix it yet. No pictures of the damage can be shared at this time for insurance purposes and because the family still needs time to deal with this tragedy privately. Please do not take pictures of the house and post them on any website or email them until the insurance is done with its investigation. The cause of the fire is still under investigation as well. This website will be updated with information as it is released by the family.

Please continue to pray for this family and their recovery from this devastating house fire! Thank you all very much!
